ZNN Article Submission Guidelines and Instructions

| Our goal is to
list news articles of the highest journalistic accuracy and quality. The
better the articles are, the better ZNN will be. Since ZNN is a
clearinghouse for alternative news and independent media reporting,
articles must represent an alternative viewpoint on mainstream events or
coverage of events and subjects that the mainstream media doesn't report
on.
For example: We don't want articles on 'Britney Spears new album' or anything like that. However, if she suddenly announces that she is a Buddhist, lesbian anarchist, that would fit ZNN! Or, if President Bush makes an announcement, we would want an alternative viewpoint on this event rather than the mainstream viewpoint. Get the picture? The best way to understand what we want to list is to look at the articles currently listed in ZNN. News articles submitted must be timely. We prefer to post the latest breaking news. If you want to submit a general article on an alternative subject it must be as currently relevant as possible. | Headline | |
| Your headline must be less than 90 characters long in order for it to fit in the ZNN news boxes without taking up too much space. Make it as concise and descriptive as possible. Also, do not make your headlines all capital letters. | |
| Author | |
| The original
author of the article. Example: Joe Smith If you don't know the author's name, put the organization that was the original source of the article. Example: Associated Press You can include the organization the author writes for in this field also especially if that organization is different than the news source. Example: Joe Smith - Reuters |

| The name of
the organization posting the news. If this is your organization, put
that name here. If the news source is not your organization, put the
name of the organization that is the source. Example: Zenzibar Alternative Culture |

| This is the web site address
for the home page of the news source. Be sure to include the http://

| This is the
web address of the specific page for the article you are posting. Do not

| Brief Description | |
| Your description must concisely indicate the contents of the article in a way that invites the reader to find out more. Do not use all capital letters. The description must be under 160 characters long. See already posted headlines on ZNN for examples. | |
| Category | |
| We have arbitrarily divided the news database into categories. Pick the one that suits the subject matter of your article the best. Use the "other" category if your article doesn't even remotely fit the other category options. We will add new categories if a certain subject is getting a lot of news postings. | |
