Taylor Hicks Elementary School
Prescott AZ
, 2003 and 2009

In this project with art teacher, Ann Hein and 500 students, we created 19 sculptural medallions (I prefer polka dots) all over the 1960’s round school building. How COOL! A Polka-dotted school!

Art Teacher, Ms. Ann Hein invited me back! This time we chose an environmental theme and "direct mosaic" rather than "wet mosaic."

"Recycle and Conserve." This is one of three mosaic murals done with Taylor Hicks' 5th grade students in the spring of 2009. "Home and Love." This mural features Prescott's iconic Thumb Butte along with the Taylor Hicks Elementary mascot, the bobcat.

Prepping the frame pieces for the composite, environmentally-based murals. Kids at work. I love that.
*

More kids and more work. Mosaic is a slow process. The third mural shows the Earth and the reuse-reduce- recycle arrows. Peace. Out
*

Happy students with a beautiful project.
