We completed the sculpture enough today to set it up for a test firing. The assembly went well and the fire sculpture worked well, too. It seems to produce more heat with less wood than the Tunnel of Transformation.

We were able to start decorating the towers a little before we lit the fires. The sculpture provides quite a large heated space because of the three fireboxes. Blaze brought his propane cannons for a test firing, too. The propane cannons were so loud that they shook houses a couple of blocks away. The cannons are going to be at TOAST.

There is still more decoration needed on the fire towers. However, it is complete enough to take to TOAST to warm us all up. I thing you're going to love it!

VOTE FOR THE NAME

I have listed 20 different name ideas for the sculpture. See the list at left. On the Azburners Yahoo Group there is a poll to pick the name. This is a two-stage deal:

Stage 1: The Primary Election - Vote for up to five of your favorite names. Voting begins Monday, April 24, 2006 and ends Thursday, April 27.

Stage 2: The final voting - The top five names from the Primary Election will be put in this poll. Vote for your favorite out of these five names. Final voting begins on Friday, April 28 and ends on Wednesday May, 3rd.

The results will be announced at TOAST (and on this page and the Yahoo Group after we get back from TOAST)
