More progress in the development of this wacky thing.....

I welded some steel "tribal" masks and bolted them to the uprights on the bed of the truck.

Here is a closer view of one of the masks. I made them out of pieces of steel that I found. 

     

I primed the front of the truck and then painted a background using exterior latex paint. On top of that I painted the designs with artists' acrylics. The mask, painted in the center of the hood, was inspired by the art of Native Americans from the Pacific Northwest.

The "cracks" are made of a holographic film that reflects light in rainbow patterns. It is embedded in the paint.

After all the painting was done, I brushed on a coat of clear gloss polyurethane to protect the artwork.

The next projects on the Tribal Truck involve putting more animal skin print material in the interior, and wiring parts of the outside of the truck with electroluminescent wire that will glow in the dark.
